Cream puffs, flan and custard are desserts that have egg in it. Eggnog, noodles coup and egg drop soup may contain egg ingredients.

US law asked all processed food manufacturing companies to label “egg” if the product has egg proteins. Mayonnaise, pasta, egg noodles, meringue, creamy salad, sauces, French toast, cream filled pies, pudding, pancakes, cakes, brownies, custard ice cream and sherbet are few food products which have egg.

There are many food products which include egg as a hidden ingredient. If you’re sensitive to its proteins then you must avoid them too. Products with label, vitellin, globulin, albumin, simplesse, lecithin, ovomucoid, ovomucin, ovalbumin and Lysozyme also indicate presence of egg. (1)

Instead of these products, eat fruits, whole-grain foods and vegetables. Check the ingredients list before purchasing a product. If possible ask your restaurant about the recipe.

If you don’t avoid foods with egg ingredients, then the allergic reaction results in severe symptoms like dizziness, hives, facial swelling, lightheadedness and anaphylaxis.
