I tried this simple remedy. Take lukewarm water to wash pollen or allergens residing in the nose. Or inhale steam mixed with some vapour balm.
Without ado let me list few effective home remedies.
#1 Steam Inhalation
Whenever I experience repeated sneezing, nasal congestion or blocked nose. I drop some vapour balm available in drug store and inhale the steam for about 5-10 minutes.
Instead of vapour balm you can add peppermint essential oil or ajwain seeds as an alternative.
These natural remedies are packed with essential vitamins and their aromatic effect reduces stress and elevates your mood.
#2 Eucalyptus Oil
This essential oil has anti-inflammatory and decongestant ability.
Take clean handkerchief or cloth, put few drops of this oil over it and inhale.
I tried this method by placing it beside my pillow and inhaled for about 10-15 minutes.
#3 Herbal Tea
Nasal congestion makes airways and mouth dry. Brew a hot tea or coffee, it will give an excellent experience.
The warm feeling can’t be expressed.
Brew peppermint tea or green tea; add small quantity of ginger to the tea.
#4 Black Pepper
This natural ingredient will reduce repeated sneezing, decongestant and relieves from cough.
For me nasal congestion always accompanied by repeated coughing, I added black pepper powder with raw honey to get rid of coughing and sneezing.
Add black pepper powder with sesame oil and dip your finger in the mixture.
Apply the powder and oil mixture under the nose and inhale the strong aroma.
Repeat the process as needed.
#5 Turmeric and Milk
You can add this simple remedy to your regular diet.
Add required amount of turmeric powder in milk and drink before breakfast.
Anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties residing in turmeric powder helps to relieve from nasal congestion due to allergies.
Important: To reduce allergic symptom, allergist advice to avoid usage of the allergen. If nasal congestion is due to pollen allergy, avoid exposure to pollen wind if possible.
