You would have rarely experience gnawing and pain, in the upper left side of your abdomen in the stomach. These are normally known as hunger pangs.

Hunger pangs are result of an irritation of lining of the stomach. When the stomach becomes empty after the digestion of the meal then it comes in contact with the lining with the walls of the stomach and rubs each other which cause discomfort in the stomach.

This rubbing will cause pain and gnawing sensation. This gnawing sensation is associated with the hunger which can be relieved by eating food.

These pains will not always indicate hunger or a true need to eat, they may be your body is in a regular diet to eat or eating specific times a day.

Some people do not feel hunger pangs in a day but some people will do. But almost everyone experience hunger pangs if they go long without food and water.

Well when we don’t have enough food in stomach it asks for food, or if our fat level drops too low then we feel hungry which may cause hunger pangs.
